Philosophy

The Lanna Thai Spa Academy Europe embraces in its training philosophy the culture and tradition of Lanna known as the “land of northern wisdom”. The Lanna people are famous for their hospitality, elegance and goodwill. They are also recognized for their healing touch, where curative techniques seek to harmonize the physical body with nature. Consistent with eastern concepts, the Lanna touch compliments with worldwide healing traditions which aim to bring mind, body and spirit into balance.

Infusing the Lanna philosophy into our training programs, we inculcate gentleness, grace and hospitality as part of the rigors of the vocation even as we demand knowledge, professionalism and the exacting techniques of the trade.

As our graduates carry our philosophy within them, we hope that they will contribute in making any spa treatment a unique experience in itself for guests privileged to enjoy the Lanna touch.

History of Lanna

Lanna, one of the earliest kingdoms of Thailand, was built in the 13th century by King Mengrai. Born in Chiang Saen, King Mengrai founded Chiang Rai as the capital of the Lanna Kingdom and formed the ancient cities of Muang Lai, Chiang Kham, Chiang Chang and Chiang Kong, with Fang as his base of authority.

Inspired by the history of the ancient Lanna Kingdom which is known as the beauty of the North, Lanna Thai Spa Academy Europe strives to revive the local beauty and healing traditions and make them suitable for world wide application.

As a tribute to this legendary culture, Lanna Thai Spa Academy designates its classroom facilities with the following historical names.
